Today launched the 9th Annual Charity Quilt Along Today launched the 9th Annual Charity Quilt Along from @fatquartershop, and the first block release, Beloved, is now available. Folks, every year I say they can't make a prettier quilt than the last, and they prove me wrong every time. If this is your first time hearing about the Charity QAL, a few details: ~ the goal is $100,000 in donations towards Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas ~ each donation gets us closer to the goal of granting 10 (TEN!!!) wishes ~ for each milestone goal ($40,000, $60,000, $80,000, and $100,000), FQS will celebrate by releasing extra finishing patterns you can use to finish your blocks and post it on the Heartfelt Quilt Along page. And guess what? The first milestone, $40,000, has already been reached! FQS has an adorable table runner pattern available that uses these gorgeous Beloved blocks. There's so much more to know, so head to @fatquartershop to get the links for the quilt along as well as the Heartfelt Stitch Along. Don't ever stop thinking about what is truly worth Don't ever stop thinking about what is truly worthwhile and worthy of praise. ~ Phillippians 4:8 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I'm not sure about you, but July zipped by in a blur of activity, and I find it hard to believe that pumpkin spice lattes are just around the corner. I've spent so much time sewing the past month, there wasn't much to spare for the computer. Today, I decided to give the sewing machine a break and play some catching up on line. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I've had several people asking about the Pineapple quilt, and I finally got brave and quilted it this week. That's saying something, since the borders have been on it and it's been loaded on my #handiquilter for two weeks. I had no idea how to quilt it but I finally just did it, since I had two quilts waiting behind it to be quilted (one of those also done as of yesterday)! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I still want to get the binding on it before the big reveal, lol, but you can see a tiny peak of it in this pic. Don't judge my crooked quilting lines. I did the entire thing with a ruler, my first time using one. After that many rows of straight line quilting with a ruler, I'm feeling pretty comfortable holding one now. Happy Monday! ☀️ The sun is shining and I'm re Happy Monday! ☀️ The sun is shining and I'm ready to share my @fatquartershop Bloomtopia Quilt Along Richmond Block. ✂️ This is release #10 and the final block!! I can't believe we're ready to start assembling and finishing next. The Richmond Block is a simple construction of 4-patch and half square triangle units. I fudged a little on the pattern (as usual) and chose to do some strip-piecing, cutting and assembly for my 4-patch blocks. It's cold in Kansas today, and we even had some big snowflakes ❄️❄️❄️ earlier! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🐱 {These Broken Di7she (this typo is courtesy of the cat suddenly walking across the keyboard. Let's try again...} 🐱 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As I was saying, these Broken Dishes quilt blocks will warm your heart, snow or no snow! This is one of the many blocks @fatquartershop has in its Classic & Vintage quilt block series. I wrote in detail about it on my blog today, if you want to drop by for a read. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Instead of one block, I used the @mellysews Blooms and Bobbins fat quarter bundle included in the July Sew Sampler box, stacking all six fat quarters and cutting my blocks at once. I've been reading more and more about #FQSSTITCHMA I've been reading more and more about #FQSSTITCHMAYNIA and the itch finally struck. I wrote a short blog post today about my May-nia plans (link in profile). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Anyone else joining in? 31 starts in 31 days? Ok, ok....I may be deviating a bit from 31 starts, but I do have grandiose plans. I already placed an order with Fat Quarter Shop today, so I'll have my new design and be ready to start stitching May 1. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you swipe to my second picture, you can see what I've ordered. I know it's an autumn design, but here's the deal. I'm planning to start it. I plan to do something cross stitch related for 31 days in May. You know, when you're driving through a neighborhood with a bunch of beautiful homes, then you notice they all look quite a bit alike??? 🏘️ Similar roofs, same siding, same architecture.
