Threadology QAL – Block 5
Welcome back for block five, Royal Star, of Fat Quarter Shop’s 2019 Threadology Quilt Along. I have to confess, I’m sitting here a bit stunned as I’m writing this. It’s April 1??? Starting the second quarter of the year already? Where does the time go???!!!

I love this quote in the thread box that came in the Threadology kit.
Beautiful things come together one stitch at a time.
2019 Threadology Quilt Along
I’m still trying to apply that ideology to my life as a whole, but sometimes it seems like I’m pulling out the seam ripper more often than not, undoing ill-planned choices.
Lately, I’ve really struggled with saying NO. I’m saying it, but it’s sooooo hard. At least on creative projects. Daily I stumble across a new quilt along, a block exchange, just something in my social media feed that I feel like I have to do. Saying no is so difficult, but I’ve been doing it.
Why, you might ask?
Rather than starting new projects, this year I chose to start four new habits that focus on areas of my life I’m wanting to improve. I’ve decided as we enter this second quarter of the year I will start sharing what those habits are, why I chose them and the progress I’m making on each.
Like this quilt, that progress is coming together one stitch at a time, so stay tuned!
Just a reminder that this year’s QAL benefits Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas. Fat Quarter Shop offers all of the patterns for free, but offers the opportunity to make a $5 donation per pattern download to support Make-A-Wish. All proceeds from the pattern downloads will be donated to Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas, with Moda Fabrics partnering along. To learn more about the cause you can view this Make-A-Wish video.
