Patchwork Quilt Along Big Block 8
Today I’m sharing Big Block 8 of the Patchwork Quilt Along. Two-thirds of the way through it and the year. Do you even remember what resolutions you made at the beginning of the year? Clearing that UFO pile? Keeping caught up on all your projects?
One of my resolutions is (still) to clean the basement space outside my sewing room. My quilting projects never stay contained within four walls and spill out to the space beyond. I’m an optimist, though. I still have four months left…
I loved our Rolling Nine Patch blocks this month! Nothing tricky to explain, just quick and easy to cut and assemble. You know, the kind of block you really don’t have to think too hard about while you’re making it. Sometimes we need those. They make me…..
So do Jelly Rolls. And Bonnie & Camille fabrics. #afewofmyfavoritethings

The pink print I used was from a fat quarter of Scrumptious, by Bonnie & Camille for Moda Fabrics. Unfortunately, that’s a hard line to locate these days, but this Basics print we’re using in the small blocks is similar. Each month during 2017, Fat Quarter Shop will post a new free pattern and video tutorial for the Patchwork Quilt and encourage participants to donate to Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas in lieu of payments. Fat Quarter Shop and Moda Fabrics will each match up to $10,000 of the donations raised. (#awesome) Learn more about it and how you can help here!
Check out the blogs every month of our quilty friends. Watch their process, and see what fun fabric collections they have selected!
*Psst! The designers of the quilt’s fabrics – Bonnie & Camille – are sewing along, too! Fun!
Please share your progress and creations along with all of us on our Patchwork Facebook group. Post your blocks using #patchworkquiltalong on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Quilting makes me feel centered, peaceful, creative, purposeful, hopeful, and generous. I have yet to find another activity that brings to the surface or satisfies all of these feelings and needs for me. It is a gift and privilege to be able to create something that offers so many others with comfort, joy, caring, and love. It’s what we need more of.
What a lovely sentiment, Tabitha. I feel much the same, but could never put it into words as beautifully as you have done. Thank you!
