Current activities from Out of the Blue

Lots of sewing, gardening (woo hoo for warmer weather and longer days!),  and Big 12 NCAA televised basketball going on around our little place. I figure before we hit the end of the first quarter of this year (already??) I should probably start updating about some of the stuff I’ve been working on. In a nutshell, it looks like this:

And yes…..it’s just about that chaotic. This year I’m taking One Little Word with Ali Edwards. Again. Love that class. I think I’ll start posting here some of the pages I’ve been working on. My word for 2014 is BALANCE. I’m working on it. By the end of the year, I’m hoping my life will look more like this:

Current Activities at Out of the Blue (as they should be)

A little more streamlined, much more balanced. Makes my AP condition feel more at ease. 🙂 I’m also taking some Block of the Month clubs this year. I haven’t had time to do one in several years, so I may have went a overboard a bit. I’m doing Pat Sloan’s Globetrotting, Sugar Block Club 2014, a Second Saturday BOM at our nearby quilt shop, Charlotte’s Sew Natural, and I’ve just decided to add Blogger Girls BOM Quilt Along by Monique at Open Gate Quilts. I’m really wanting to explore new tools, new techniques…there is always so much to learn from everyone else, and I love it. Everyday, I feel like I happen across someone showing a new way to do half-square triangles, improve a quarter inch seam….the list is endless! I’ve pretty much decided that I want to learn every possible way to do a half square triangle until I find the fastest, easiest method possible (and still be accurate). I’ve tried a couple for my January, February and March blocks and will share those with you soon.
