Make Mine Mini? Many? Crossroads Quilt Along

Are we really two weeks into the Crossroads Quilt Along? Has everyone done Block #1? All FOUR blocks? For those of you not familiar, I wrote about it in this post and you can get full details here at the Fat Quarter Shop.  Definitely should Check. It. Out. This is my work table, what seems like eons ago. Clean. Organized. Ready to start Block 1. It didn’t look like this very long. Especially after completing 16 blocks.

Yup, you read that right. I made 16 blocks, and not because I was trying to make an entire quilt of house blocks or anything that logical. I couldn’t make up my mind on fabric. Do you ever have that happen? First, I leaned towards my stash of Bonnie & Camille fabrics designed for Moda.

Love these fabrics. So I made four blocks.

Then, this crazy brain of mine thought maybe I should do a mini version. After all, I did a mini for the Fat Quarter Shop’s previous charity quilt along, Snapshots, never realizing that the first time I showed it on Facebook, others would want to make a mini version, too, and request instructions. So, out came the calculator and my Crossroads Mini house blocks were born.

However, I’ve decided these blocks will get put into some other project(s) in the near future, because I chose 3 Sister’s Larkspur, another line by Moda, for my full size Crossroads quilt. So off to the Fat Quarter Shop to place an order!   I am using a layer cake of Strawberry Fields Revisited by Fig Tree Quilts to make my Crossroads Mini, supplementing a coordinating solid from my stash for the background.

It’s always like Christmas unwrapping opening a box of fabric.

And it’s like a very nice suburb on my design wall these days, with so many pretty houses! Anyone else want to make a Crossroads Mini? Would you like me to post measurements for them like I did for the Snapshot’s Quilt-along?
