It's Jolly Bar Monday, a fun quilt along from @fat It's Jolly Bar Monday, a fun quilt along from @fatquartershop, featuring their newest Jolly Bar Book, Volume 3. Today, we're on to Block 3, Springtime Bliss. I feel like that's a perfect name, looking at these springy fabrics.⠀🌼🌷⠀Did I mention I'm using Sophie by Brenda Riddle for Moda Fabrics?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There are three more releases after this one, so technically we're not even halfway, as we will have the top assembly and the backing to make, as well. I'm saying this because I know there are plenty of folks that feel like if they didn't start on day one with block one, it's too late. No way! Here's my Release 3 of the Serendipity Quilt! ✂️ This was my first time doing a courthouse steps block (center of the star), believe it or not. I started a log cabin quilt years ago - emphasis on years because I stopped after one block. Maybe two. It's been so long ago, I'm not sure. It's somewhere, in a box, probably in another box, of UFOs.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If I had been using foundation papers from @fatquartershop, I think I may have finished it. I've done some paper piecing over the years, but this time I thought, "I'm doing it exactly like they do at the Fat Quarter Shop." I bought the same glue stick (fell in love with this thing) and all the tools, watched Kimberly on her YouTube 🖥️ videos showing how to use the foundation papers and.....it was a game changer! It's cold in Kansas today, and we even had some big snowflakes ❄️❄️❄️ earlier! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🐱 {These Broken Di7she (this typo is courtesy of the cat suddenly walking across the keyboard. Let's try again...} 🐱 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As I was saying, these Broken Dishes quilt blocks will warm your heart, snow or no snow! This is one of the many blocks @fatquartershop has in its Classic & Vintage quilt block series. I wrote in detail about it on my blog today, if you want to drop by for a read. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Instead of one block, I used the @mellysews Blooms and Bobbins fat quarter bundle included in the July Sew Sampler box, stacking all six fat quarters and cutting my blocks at once. Happy Monday! ☀️ The sun is shining and I'm re Happy Monday! ☀️ The sun is shining and I'm ready to share my @fatquartershop Bloomtopia Quilt Along Richmond Block. ✂️ This is release #10 and the final block!! I can't believe we're ready to start assembling and finishing next. The Richmond Block is a simple construction of 4-patch and half square triangle units. I fudged a little on the pattern (as usual) and chose to do some strip-piecing, cutting and assembly for my 4-patch blocks. I've been reading more and more about #FQSSTITCHMA I've been reading more and more about #FQSSTITCHMAYNIA and the itch finally struck. I wrote a short blog post today about my May-nia plans (link in profile). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Anyone else joining in? 31 starts in 31 days? Ok, ok....I may be deviating a bit from 31 starts, but I do have grandiose plans. I already placed an order with Fat Quarter Shop today, so I'll have my new design and be ready to start stitching May 1. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you swipe to my second picture, you can see what I've ordered. I know it's an autumn design, but here's the deal. I'm planning to start it. I plan to do something cross stitch related for 31 days in May. Happy Friday, everyone! Today is block release #2, Happy Friday, everyone! Today is block release #2, Buttercup, of the Heartfelt Charity Quilt Along from @fatquartershop. Yesterday, it was nearly 80 degrees here. Mind you, I believe the forecast for Monday is snow.
