Happy Friday, everyone! Today is block release #2, Happy Friday, everyone! Today is block release #2, Buttercup, of the Heartfelt Charity Quilt Along from @fatquartershop. You can get all the information and download the pattern at https://blog.fatquartershop.com/2022-heartfelt-quilt-along/.​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ In Kansas, we don't have any buttercups blooming yet, but small green shoots are already sprouting up. Yesterday, it was nearly 80 degrees here. Mind you, I believe the forecast for Monday is snow. Today launched the 9th Annual Charity Quilt Along Today launched the 9th Annual Charity Quilt Along from @fatquartershop, and the first block release, Beloved, is now available. Folks, every year I say they can't make a prettier quilt than the last, and they prove me wrong every time. If this is your first time hearing about the Charity QAL, a few details: ~ the goal is $100,000 in donations towards Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas ~ each donation gets us closer to the goal of granting 10 (TEN!!!) wishes ~ for each milestone goal ($40,000, $60,000, $80,000, and $100,000), FQS will celebrate by releasing extra finishing patterns you can use to finish your blocks and post it on the Heartfelt Quilt Along page. And guess what? The first milestone, $40,000, has already been reached! FQS has an adorable table runner pattern available that uses these gorgeous Beloved blocks. There's so much more to know, so head to @fatquartershop to get the links for the quilt along as well as the Heartfelt Stitch Along. It's Jolly Bar Monday, a fun quilt along from @fat It's Jolly Bar Monday, a fun quilt along from @fatquartershop, featuring their newest Jolly Bar Book, Volume 3. Today, we're on to Block 3, Springtime Bliss. Here's my Release 3 of the Serendipity Quilt! ✂️ This was my first time doing a courthouse steps block (center of the star), believe it or not. I started a log cabin quilt years ago - emphasis on years because I stopped after one block. Maybe two. It's been so long ago, I'm not sure. It's somewhere, in a box, probably in another box, of UFOs.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If I had been using foundation papers from @fatquartershop, I think I may have finished it. I've done some paper piecing over the years, but this time I thought, "I'm doing it exactly like they do at the Fat Quarter Shop." I bought the same glue stick (fell in love with this thing) and all the tools, watched Kimberly on her YouTube 🖥️ videos showing how to use the foundation papers and.....it was a game changer! Happy Monday! ☀️ The sun is shining and I'm re Happy Monday! ☀️ The sun is shining and I'm ready to share my @fatquartershop Bloomtopia Quilt Along Richmond Block. ✂️ This is release #10 and the final block!! I can't believe we're ready to start assembling and finishing next. The Richmond Block is a simple construction of 4-patch and half square triangle units. I fudged a little on the pattern (as usual) and chose to do some strip-piecing, cutting and assembly for my 4-patch blocks. Let's try again...} 🐱 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As I was saying, these Broken Dishes quilt blocks will warm your heart, snow or no snow! This is one of the many blocks @fatquartershop has in its Classic & Vintage quilt block series. I wrote in detail about it on my blog today, if you want to drop by for a read. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Instead of one block, I used the @mellysews Blooms and Bobbins fat quarter bundle included in the July Sew Sampler box, stacking all six fat quarters and cutting my blocks at once.
