ABOUT ME

Hey everyone, I’m Sondra – the quilter/wife/blogger behind this screen. I live with my husband, Cary, and our menagerie of rescue cats. I’m an avid quilter, love nearly any form of crafting or DIY, and I am obsessed with learning new things.

I started designing patterns in 2003, and over the years I’ve developed a focus on strip piecing, quilt as you sew, and other time-saving techniques.  I graduated college with majors in Education and Mass Communications with an emphasis in Journalism, never dreaming how handy those skills would be for designing patterns and teaching quilting.

In addition to Out of the Blue, I managed Quality and Process Improvement for a well-known global aircraft company.  Over the years I learned and trained others about streamlining workflows, which I still use today in my business and quilting practices.

So…I think we should be friends… and you should probably like cats.
