Crossroads Quilt Along Mini Quilt Intersection Block 5

Greetings, friends, and welcome to Crossroads Quilt Along Mini Quilt Intersection Block 5!  Instead of bringing you up to date on where I’ve been lately, I’m just going to jump right in and deliver some quilting measurements to those of you who have been so sweetly and patiently waiting!

I love my full size version blocks, in Moda’s Larkspur fabric line by 3 Sister’s. With autumn just around the corner, the richness of these fabrics makes me start thinking about pumpkins and chai lattes. Can’t wait!! Any others out there with fall fever yet?

The mini blocks went together super smooth. I made a slight deviation in the cutting measurements for this block, to make life easier for us. When cutting the squares for Pieces B and H which then will become half square triangles, I oversized the measurements a fraction (to 1½” squares). This will make it easier (and more accurate) to trim the finished half square triangles to the needed 1″ squares. I don’t know about the rest of you, but sometimes even full size half square triangles decide to go all cattywampus on me. I have no idea why. I’ve reached the point in my life it’s just easier to oversize and trim down! I’ve marked those blocks with an asterik on the measurements below.

And, in case anyone is wondering, expect things to be busy on the blog this week!! Much more to share with everyone!

Monthly Reminder for the Crossroads Quilt Along Mini Quilt

If you’re not familiar with the Crossroads Quilt Along, I wrote more about it here. The instructions for each 8-inch, full size, monthly block are provided by the Fat Quarter Shop. You need those instructions, as I am only providing replacement measurements to create a 4¼” block each month. Share your progress and creations with us on Crossroads Facebook group. Post your blocks using #crossroadsquiltalong and #crossroadsquiltalongmini on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

  1. I love your mini’s and appreciate the time and effort you put into them as well as sharing. Half square triangles sometimes go cattywampus on me no matter how I careful am in all steps. So, going larger and squaring up is so much less frustrating.
